Actor Ma Dongseok will produce the Hollywood project "Pig Village," according to investment and distribution company Plus M Entertainment on April 18.

For this project, Ma Dongseok serves as both the creator of the original story and the lead actor. His production company, Big Punch Pictures, is leading the project, with Nova Film and B&C Content also participating in production. Plus M Entertainment and ABO Entertainment are jointly providing and distributing the film.

Cha Woojin, Ma Dongseok's brother-in-law and a writer who contributed to the screenplay of the film "The Outlaws 3" (2023), is writing the script. Lee Sangyong, who directed "The Outlaws" 2 and 3 (2022, 2023), will direct the film.

Through the distributor, Ma Dongseok stated, "For a long time, I have dreamed of making a true Hollywood action film through the Korean production system," and added, "'Pig Village' will be a new project that brings together top-tier talent from both Korea and Hollywood, combining the strengths of each industry."

"Pig Village," which is aimed at the global Hollywood market and features 100% English dialogue, tells the story of "Hammer" (played by Ma Dongseok), a professional bare-knuckle boxer, and a group of criminals with different motives who gather at a suspicious location in San Diego, near the U.S.-Mexico border. The cast includes Michael Rooker, Collin O'Dell, Lizette Olvera, Ali An, Abraham Popoola, and Alex Meraz.

Michael Rooker, known for his role as Yondu in "Guardians of the Galaxy," will play "Steve," a corrupt police officer who holds Hammer's Achilles' heel. Rooker commented, "Ma Dongseok is a person with tremendous influence," and added, "I wanted to work with Korea's outstanding production team and be part of a fresh and exciting film."

"Pig Village" is scheduled to finish filming in the first half of this year, with plans for a worldwide release.
