"Ugly agricultural products" refer to produce that does not meet distribution standards in terms of size, color, or shape, or has minor blemishes. Although often excluded from consumer choices, these products are identical to regular items in terms of quality, freshness, and nutrition.

Recently, the value of "ugly agricultural products" has been reevaluated as a new consumption trend, gaining attention for saving food resources, responding to climate crises, and promoting ethical consumption.

The ugly agricultural products featured in this event are grown in the same way as regular products and have been verified for safety, but are often overlooked or undervalued in conventional distribution channels due to their appearance.

This event will be held in collaboration with Namwon City, Jinan County, Imsil County, and their respective agricultural product distribution organizations, which will handle supply and delivery. Starting from the 21st, 100 to 300 boxes of each item will be sold per day in limited quantities until sold out. If consumer response is positive, the sales period may be extended and the range of items expanded.

Choi Jaeyong, Director of the Agricultural Life and Livestock Industry Bureau of the province, said, "Ugly agricultural products are not just affordable items; they help address blind spots in agricultural product distribution and embody the values of environmental protection and sustainable agriculture. We hope that more consumers will experience the true value of ugly agricultural products through Saengsaeng Market."
