OCI Group's subsidiary, the standard workplace for the disabled OCI Dream, held a charity event ahead of Disability Day. OCI Dream is working hard to create jobs for people with disabilities by utilizing the donations collected at the charity event.

OCI Holdings announced on the 18th that it successfully held the charity event "2nd Together Dream" in celebration of Disability Day on the 17th at the OCI Building in Jung-gu, Seoul. About 300 employees attended the event. This event, which started last year, will continue to be held annually ahead of Disability Day. It was organized to reflect on the meaning of Disability Day on the 20th, improve awareness of disabilities, and support the social participation and independence of people with disabilities.

Employees with disabilities belonging to OCI Dream led programs such as a flower class and classical music performances at the event. A special invited lecture was also held by Jeong Eun-hye, a developmentally disabled writer who appeared in the 2022 drama "Our Blues." Jeong, who is about to get married, shared her story under the theme "Love Rides on a Painting." She said, "I hope people with disabilities can proudly have dreams, work, and love," adding, "I wish for a world where people with disabilities can naturally enjoy happiness that comes from ordinary daily life."

OCI Dream will use the donations collected from the charity event to create jobs for people with disabilities. The proceeds from the event tickets will be used as funds to support vocational training for people with disabilities. In fact, the donations collected last year were delivered to the Seoul Northern Disabled Welfare Center and used to operate vocational training programs such as florist, baking, and barista courses for 11 people with disabilities. In February, one of them was hired by OCI Dream.

OCI Dream plans to emphasize the importance of vocational training for people with disabilities through this event and provide opportunities for them to achieve economic independence. Lee Ji-hyun, CEO of OCI Dream, said, "We will continue to spare no support for expanding social participation of people with disabilities, including this charity event," adding, "We will especially continue to strive to create a corporate culture where people with and without disabilities move forward together."
