The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) announced on the 18th that it conducted a special fundraising campaign together with the allowance education platform 'Puffin' to overcome the large-scale wildfire damage that struck the Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam regions last March.
The core of this campaign was not the donation amount but the 'experience of sharing hearts.' Children who chose to donate instead of birthday presents or willingly opened their piggy banks to take out their saved allowance took their first step toward others through this campaign. A total of 843 households participated, raising about 6.8 million won in donations.
Lee Min-hee, CEO of Lemontree, the operator of Puffin, said, "It was a meaningful experience where children could feel a sense of connection to the world," adding, "This campaign became a 'proof of hope' created together by generations beyond simple donations."
Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, said, "Even amid the horrific disaster, the warm sharing by children and parents together delivered a strong message of solidarity to overcome the disaster together and resonated deeply," adding, "Their warm hands will be a great strength to the affected residents."
Since the wildfire outbreak, Hope Bridge has urgently provided more than 450,000 relief items and is actively continuing practical recovery activities such as laundry services in temporary shelters, medical support, and meal truck services.
