Traffic congestion is expected this weekend due to rallies in downtown Seoul and the Gangnam area, as well as religious events.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 18th, "Rallies involving tens of thousands of participants from progressive and conservative groups will take place in various locations in downtown and Gangnam this weekend, and Easter events are also scheduled, so traffic congestion is expected."
The progressive groups plan to hold a rally on Yulgok-ro and march to the Sungnyemun Intersection, while conservative groups will hold a rally around Sejong-daero and march to Exit 5 of Anguk Station.
In the Gangnam area, conservative groups will hold a rally on Seocho Jungang-ro and march back and forth along Seocho-daero.
The Korea Christian Federation will hold Easter events around Sejong-daero.
A police official stated, "We will maintain traffic flow around the rally areas using reversible lanes and deploy about 270 traffic police officers to manage traffic, including vehicle detours," adding, "We ask that people use the subway as much as possible."
