The summit focused on five key agendas under the theme 'Science-Based Green Transition for All': ▲Science-based solutions ▲Promotion of citizen participation ▲Renewable energy economy ▲Bridging the climate gap ▲Harmony with nature, discussing responses to the climate crisis.
Ki Hyuk, head of the World Heritage Division of Shinan County, introduced the renewable energy profit-sharing system represented by 'Sunlight Pension' and 'Wind Pension,' emphasizing that this policy is an innovative model that goes beyond simple energy transition to address both the climate crisis and the challenge of overcoming regional extinction.
In response, participants expressed deep interest, describing it as a "just policy design with residents at the center of the transition," and showed an active willingness to share and potentially apply Shinan County's policy in their own countries.
Ki Hyuk stated, "Taking this summit as an opportunity, we will further strengthen solidarity with local governments at home and abroad, and continue to expand climate policies based on ecological conservation and resident participation," adding, "Through this, we aim to establish ourselves as a global role model leading the future of sustainable island cities in the era of climate crisis."
