2,037 Applicants Compete for 473 Positions Across 8 Job Categories
The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that for the 2025 first recruitment exam for education public officials, 2,037 applicants applied for 473 positions across eight job categories, resulting in an average competition rate of 4.3 to 1.
By job category, the competition rate was highest for educational welfare officers at 83 to 1, followed by after-school care staff at 24.7 to 1, cleaning staff at 12.3 to 1, special education assistants at 12.2 to 1, dormitory life guidance staff at 11 to 1, professional counselors at 10 to 1, night duty staff at 2.1 to 1, and kitchen staff at 1.5 to 1.
The test locations for the first round will be announced on the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education website on May 8, and the evaluation will be conducted on May 17. The exam consists of a personality test (50%) and a job competency test (50%), except for kitchen staff, night duty staff, and cleaning staff, for whom the personality test accounts for 100%.
Candidates who pass the first round of personality and job competency tests will undergo a second interview in June. The final successful candidates will be announced in July, and they will be assigned sequentially to schools and educational administrative institutions starting in September.
An official from the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education stated, "We will do our best to ensure that the necessary personnel are assigned to the educational field in a timely manner through fair and transparent recruitment."
