Korea Capital, a specialized financial company for women, has contributed to supporting the recovery from wildfire damage.
On the 18th, Korea Capital announced that it donated a total of 20 million KRW, with 10 million KRW each to Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association and Firefighter Family Hope Sharing, to support the recovery from large-scale wildfires that occurred in the Yeongnam region including Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan.
In addition, all executives and employees of Korea Capital, including CEO Jeong Sang-cheol, voluntarily participated in fundraising for recovery efforts, delivering a total of 8 million KRW collected from employees who wished to donate.
The donations will be used through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association for emergency relief and financial support for wildfire-affected residents in each region, installation of shelters at evacuation centers, and through Firefighter Family Hope Sharing for PTSD treatment support for on-site firefighters involved in wildfire suppression and recovery, improvement of working conditions, and support for families of fallen firefighters.
Jeong Sang-cheol, CEO of Korea Capital, said, "Amid unprecedented large-scale wildfires causing suffering throughout the community, we decided to donate to provide even a small help where practical assistance is needed. We extend our deepest condolences to all those who have lost their homes and hope they can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
