The Bucheon City Public Health Center in Gyeonggi Province is launching a 'Mobile Healthcare' project to prevent chronic diseases by improving lifestyle habits.
Mobile Healthcare is a project that utilizes information and communication technology (ICT) to provide customized health management services through the public health center's healthcare platform. The goal is to enhance both individuals' self-health management abilities and the overall health level of local residents.
Any adult aged 19 to 64 who lives or works in Bucheon can participate.
Priority will be given to those with high health risk factors such as blood pressure, blood sugar, waist circumference, triglycerides, and HDL cholesterol. However, individuals already diagnosed with hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidemia and currently taking medication, or those who participated in last year's Mobile Healthcare project, are excluded from recruitment.
Participants will undergo a health checkup at each district public health center before the project starts, then use a smartphone app linked with a smart band to receive non-face-to-face health management services for six months. After completion, a follow-up health checkup will also be available.
Additionally, customized consultations with nurses, nutritionists, and exercise experts affiliated with the public health center will be provided. For more details, please refer to the Bucheon City Public Health Center website.
Kim Eun-ok, director of the Bucheon City Public Health Center, said, "Participants will visit the public health center twice over 24 weeks to undergo body measurements and blood tests," adding, "Through Mobile Healthcare, we plan to precisely track changes in individuals' health status and actively work to prevent chronic diseases across various areas."
