Yoon Bomi began her career in 2011 as a member of the group Apink and has been active in various fields such as entertainment, dramas, and YouTube. The city explained that Yoon was appointed as an ambassador because she has consistently volunteered for temporary care of abandoned dogs and has adopted three abandoned dogs, demonstrating positive influence.

Starting from this day, Yoon will serve as a promotional ambassador for two years until April 16, 2027, attending pet festivals and various events to promote the adoption of abandoned animals.

Lee Sang-il, Mayor of Yongin, said to Yoon, "We ask for your active participation to create a city where citizens are happy with their pets and to take a step closer to realizing animal welfare."

Yoon responded, "Having regularly volunteered at abandoned dog shelters, I have realized that many abandoned animals need a helping hand," adding, "As an ambassador, I will strive to spread the culture of adopting abandoned animals."

Previously, the Yongin Animal Protection Center received the highest evaluation in the field of pet welfare in a survey conducted by Gyeonggi Province and Konkuk University Animal Happiness Research Institute. According to the city’s survey, the adoption rate of abandoned animals is 82%, more than twice the national average, and the euthanasia rate is only 2%, much lower than the national average of 19%.
