Thomas Leads, Scheffler and Henley Share Second
Sungjae Im Tied for 31st, Byeonghun An in 68th Place
Siwoo Kim had a smooth start at the prestigious tournament.
On the 17th (local time), at Harbour Town Golf Links (par 71, 7,213 yards) in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA, Siwoo Kim shot a 3-under 68 in the first round of the PGA Tour RBC Heritage (total prize money $20 million), placing him tied for 21st. This tournament is one of the eight PGA Tour signature events held annually. Only 72 players participate, including the top 50 from last season's FedEx Cup standings, this year's tour winners, and players ranked within the top 30 in the world.

Kim recorded five birdies and two bogeys. After his first birdie on the 2nd hole (par 5), he gained momentum with consecutive birdies on the 4th and 5th holes. Although he stumbled briefly with two bogeys on the 7th and 10th holes, he showed resilience by making back-to-back birdies on the 12th and 13th holes. However, it was disappointing that he couldn't lower his score on the remaining five holes. He is seven strokes behind the leader and four strokes behind the group tied for second. Kim was runner-up in this tournament in 2018 after a playoff.
Justin Thomas (USA) racked up 11 birdies and one bogey. He surged ahead as the leader by three strokes at 10-under 61. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley (both USA) are tied for second at 7-under 64, chasing the leader. Wyndham Clark (USA) is in fourth place at 6-under 65. From Korea, Sungjae Im is tied for 31st at 2-under 69, and Byung-Hun An is in 68th place at 3-over 74.
