Yeongdeungpo-gu 'YDP Daengdaengi School' Comes to Your Home

Applications accepted until April 30... Open to all Yeongdeungpo residents who have completed pet registration
Recruiting 35 households with dogs showing behavioral problems; full training costs covered

Yeongdeungpo-gu 'YDP Daengdaengi School' Comes to Your Home

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will newly operate the visiting training program "YDP Daengdaengi School" for dogs with behavioral problems to establish a mature companion culture, and is recruiting participating households until April 30.

As the number of households raising companion animals has recently increased, conflicts between neighbors due to dog bites, noise, and other issues have intensified. In response, the district provides a fully free 1:1 customized behavior correction training program where experts visit homes directly to increase understanding of companion animals and prevent conflicts.

The training identifies the pet's behavioral problems through prior phone consultation, then a professional trainer visits the household twice to analyze the causes and conduct correction education tailored to the type. Guardians participate directly in demonstrations and practice for each problematic behavior, and the educational effect is continuously monitored online for one month afterward. The training will be conducted sequentially from June to November according to each household's schedule.

Yeongdeungpo-gu residents who have completed companion animal registration and are experiencing difficulties due to their dog's behavioral problems can apply. Thirty-five households will be recruited by downloading the application form from the "Notices" board on the district office website and submitting it by email or visit to the "Living Health Division." If there are many applicants, priority will be given in the order of ▲households raising dangerous dogs ▲households adopting abandoned dogs ▲vulnerable groups, single-person households, and households raising two or more dogs.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, "I hope this training will be an opportunity for companion animals and guardians to form a healthy relationship," and added, "We will continue various supports to create a happy Yeongdeungpo where people and animals live together."
