Gyeonggi-do Selects 147 Outstanding Skilled Technicians

Gyeonggi Province selected 147 outstanding skilled technicians through this year's 'Provincial Skills Competition.'


The competition was held from the 7th to the 11th at eight venues across six regions within the province, including Ansan, Suwon, Siheung, Namyangju, Gimpo, and Bucheon.


The competition featured a total of 49 categories, ranging from traditional manufacturing to service and future industries, including architectural design, welding, skincare, baking, 3D printing, and industrial drone control, with 495 participants.

Gyeonggi Province selected 147 outstanding skilled technicians representing the province through this competition.


The top institution was Ansan Technical High School, which won 23 awards including 8 gold, 8 silver, and 4 bronze medals, earning a total of 1,126 points. Following were Bucheon Technical High School with 450 points as an excellent institution, and Gyeonggi Automotive Science High School with 394 points receiving the encouragement award.


Winners of this competition will receive certificates, medals, and prize money up to 1.3 million KRW, along with benefits such as exemption from the craftsman qualification exam. Additionally, they will represent Gyeonggi Province at the 60th National Skills Competition to be held in Gwangju in September this year.


Bae Jin-gi, Director of the Job and Economic Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "We are proud of all the participants who sweat for their dreams," adding, "Gyeonggi Province will spare no support to help prospective skilled technicians fully demonstrate their talents and passion."
