This meeting was organized as a follow-up to the 'Pre-consulting for Regional Development Projects' conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 14th. The meeting was attended by more than 30 heads of relevant departments, including Acting Mayor Lee Jaehun of Yeongju City.

During the meeting, participants shared and engaged in in-depth discussions on the following topics: the current status of project identification for contest applications, analysis of the results from the pre-consulting by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, preparation of business plans for regional development projects, and future implementation schedules.

Through this meeting, the city decided to fully promote a total of 18 regional development projects, including Investment Leading Districts, Region-specific Demand Support, and Regional Development Plans. These projects aim to revitalize the local economy and improve the quality of life for citizens by establishing small- and medium-scale living infrastructure, boosting tourism, improving residential conditions, and expanding transportation infrastructure.

Additionally, based on the pre-consulting results from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, the city is thoroughly analyzing key evaluation criteria such as project feasibility, demand acquisition strategies, resident participation, and the possibility of establishing basic infrastructure. Supplementary work is also underway to enhance the feasibility of each project.

According to the project implementation schedule, applications for the Investment Leading Districts and Region-specific Demand Support contests will be submitted to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport by May, with the selection results expected to be announced between July and August. Applications for the reestablishment of the Regional Development Plan will be submitted to North Gyeongsang Province by June, followed by the full-scale planning process.

Acting Mayor Lee Jaehun stated, "Contest projects and regional development plans are key strategies that will determine the future of our region. We will systematically prepare with a focus on feasibility and resident demand, concentrating all administrative capabilities so that Yeongju can rise as a leading small and medium-sized city in North Gyeongsang Province."
