Five members of the group LOONA partially won a lawsuit related to their exclusive contract against their agency Blockberry Creative.
The Seoul Northern District Court Civil Division 12 (Chief Judge Jo Seung-woo) ruled on the 17th that LOONA members HaSeul, Yves, Go Won, Olivia Hye, and Yeojin partially won their lawsuit seeking to nullify their exclusive contract against Blockberry Creative.
The court dismissed all of the plaintiffs' primary claims (the claims the plaintiffs initially asserted as the cause) but stated, "It is confirmed that the exclusive contract and the ancillary agreement concluded between the plaintiffs and the defendant have no effect."
The civil ruling did not disclose the reasons for the judgment, so the specific details remain unknown.
Previously, the five LOONA members had conflicts with their agency over profit settlement issues and filed for a provisional injunction to suspend the effect of the exclusive contract in 2022, but it was dismissed in the first trial. After receiving a favorable decision in the appeal, they filed a lawsuit to confirm the nullity of the exclusive contract in August 2023.
