Goyang Organizing Committee Holds Kickoff Meeting for 'UCLG ASPAC Goyang Congress'
Full-scale Preparations Begin Ahead of September Congress... Mobilizing All-Out Support Capabilities
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 17th that it held the kickoff meeting of the Organizing Committee for the '2025 10th UCLG ASPAC Goyang Congress' at the Goyang City Hall Grand Conference Room on the 16th.

Presided over by Park Won-seok, 1st Deputy Mayor of Goyang Special City (Organizing Committee Chair), the meeting was attended by about 30 people, including Kim Hyun-ho, Director of Goyang Research Institute (Vice Chair), 16 department heads in charge of six executive divisions, and five external advisors.
At the meeting, Forexcum Co., Ltd., selected as the agency, presented the congress promotion plan and planning direction. The attendees exchanged various opinions, taking the first step toward the successful hosting of the congress.
To ensure the successful hosting of this congress, the Organizing Committee plans to consolidate the capabilities of each department to establish efficient event management and a comprehensive support system.
For this purpose, they plan to systematically carry out all preparation processes of the congress through close collaboration with external experts as well as securing practical execution capabilities. Starting with this meeting, several additional meetings will be held during the preparation period for thorough pre-inspections and discussions, and a results report meeting will be held after the event concludes.
The '2025 10th UCLG ASPAC Goyang Congress' is scheduled to be held for three days from September 24 to 26 at Kintex Exhibition Hall 1 and various locations within Goyang Special City. It is expected to facilitate diverse discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation among local governments and cities in the Asia-Pacific region and promoting sustainable urban development.
A Goyang Special City official said, "Through this congress, we will concentrate all our capabilities to thoroughly prepare so that we can further elevate our status as an international city and create an opportunity to strengthen the city's brand value."
