No. 1 in Net Individual Purchases Among Domestic ETFs Tracking the Same Index as SCHD in the US
Mirae Asset Global Investments announced on the 17th that as of the end of March, the 'TIGER US Dividend Dow Jones ETF' recorded the lowest actual expense ratio compared to similar funds.
According to the Korea Financial Investment Association, as of the end of March, the actual expense ratio of the 'TIGER US Dividend Dow Jones ETF' is 0.1357%, the lowest among ETFs listed domestically with the same underlying index.
The actual expense ratio is a figure that combines the total fees with other costs incurred during fund management, including trading and brokerage commissions, representing the total cost borne by the investor. Since the actual expense ratio accumulates over long-term ETF investments and affects returns, it is considered an important factor when investing through pension accounts.
The TIGER US Dividend Dow Jones ETF has recorded the highest returns among similar funds since the beginning of the year due to its low actual expense ratio. Amid the recent correction in the US stock market, where major US indices such as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 have both fallen more than -10%, the 'TIGER US Dividend Dow Jones ETF' showed stable defensive performance with a year-to-date return of -9.61% as of the 16th.
The TIGER US Dividend Dow Jones ETF is a monthly distribution ETF that invests in high-quality, high-dividend companies recognized for their growth potential and financial soundness, having consistently paid dividends for over 10 years. Its underlying index is the 'Dow Jones US Dividend 100 Index,' which tracks the same index as the 'Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF (SCHD)' listed in the US. SCHD was the US representative dividend investment ETF that attracted the most funds last year among US dividend investment ETFs, maintaining an annual dividend yield of around 3-4%.
The TIGER US Dividend Dow Jones ETF is the most chosen ETF by individual investors among SCHD-tracking ETFs listed domestically. Last year, it ranked first in net purchases by individuals among similar funds listed domestically, with a cumulative net purchase amount of 1.13 trillion KRW. This year, it continues to maintain the top position due to steady individual buying. As of the closing price on the 16th, its net assets stand at 1.9249 trillion KRW, the largest scale compared to similar funds.
Namho Kim, Head of the Global ETF Management Division at Mirae Asset Global Investments, explained, "Since the TIGER US Dividend Dow Jones ETF is a product with high demand from long-term investors due to its monthly distributions and stable performance, minimizing the actual expense ratio is crucial." He added, "Going forward, TIGER ETFs will continue to strive to maximize investors' long-term returns by minimizing other costs and trading expenses."
