Gwangju City Holds Appointment Ceremony and Regular Meeting
for the Women's Job Council

The Gwangju City Women's Job Council is an advisory body operated by Gwangju City, designated as a women-friendly city, with the purpose of discovering jobs and promoting employment for local women. It is composed of both private and public participants to establish a discussion system that promotes women's economic participation and implements practical, field-centered policies.
At this meeting, appointment letters were awarded to eight new members from various fields, including representatives of women-owned businesses, officials from vocational training institutions, and gender experts, and time was spent sharing the current status of women-related job projects in the region.
Going forward, the Women's Job Council plans to discover cooperative projects to expand women's employment through regular meetings and to establish and implement customized job policies reflecting regional characteristics.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, "I am very honored that Gwangju City, a women-friendly city, has formed the Women's Job Council to discover jobs for women and expand their social participation," adding, "We will actively support the council's vigorous activities to contribute to improving women's economic and social status and to achieve tangible changes."
