Regarding the party primaries for the upcoming presidential election, former leader Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea (Deobureo Minju Party) is significantly ahead. In the People Power Party (Gungminuihim), multiple candidates are competing within the margin of error, according to the survey.


On the 17th, according to the National Barometer Survey (NBS) conducted from the 14th to 16th by Embrain Public, K-Stat Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research (telephone interviews via mobile phones with 1,001 men and women aged 18 and over nationwide; margin of error ±3.1 percentage points at 95% confidence level; response rate 23.2%), former leader Lee ranked first in the Democratic Party presidential candidate suitability survey with 44%. Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon received 8%, and former South Gyeongsang Province Governor Kim Kyung-soo received 3%. However, 41% of respondents were undecided.

In the People Power Party presidential candidate suitability survey, former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo received 12%. He was followed by former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon with 10%, former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo with 9%, and People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo with 8%. Among People Power Party supporters, former Mayor Hong and former Minister Kim were tied at 23%, with former leader Han following at 19%.


Regardless of party affiliation, in the presidential candidate suitability survey listing multiple candidates, former leader Lee was first with 39%. Former Mayor Hong and former Minister Kim each had 8%, and former leader Han had 6%.


This survey also included hypothetical three-way race scenarios, in which former leader Lee was dominant in all cases. Each scenario fixed former leader Lee and Reform New Party lawmaker Lee Jun-seok, alternating candidates from the People Power Party among former Minister Kim, former Mayor Hong, and former leader Han. In the three-way race with former Minister Kim, former leader Lee had 45%, former Minister Kim 22%, and lawmaker Lee 9%. Regarding the speculation about Acting President and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo running for president, 66% of respondents said it was undesirable, while 24% said it was desirable.


In party support ratings, the Democratic Party received 37%, the People Power Party 30%, the Innovation Party for Justice 7%, and the Reform New Party 3%.
