Chungnam Teacher Global Mini Forum Recap with Google Korea held by Cheonan Office of Education. /Chungnam Provincial Office of Education
The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education announced that it held the "Global Mini Forum for Chungnam Teachers with Google" three times from the 14th to the 17th, with support from Google Korea, to strengthen teachers' digital capabilities.
Following events at Cheonan Office of Education and Gongju Office of Education, the latest forum was held on the 17th at the Chilgapsan NH Hotel in Cheongyang. This forum was organized as part of the collaboration between the Chungnam Office of Education and Google for Education to promote AI education, aiming to enhance teacher leadership and systematically strengthen digital competencies.
The forum drew even more attention with the direct participation of Drew Wallin, Strategic Partner Manager for Google Workspace for Education, who joined from abroad, as well as Google Korea staff including Manager Kwon Boyoung, who served as speakers.
The forum introduced and shared innovative educational cases from around the world, explored class innovation through lectures on the use of generative AI tools such as Gemini and Vids, and presented ways to reduce teachers' workload using Google for Education tools.
Google Korea also received positive feedback by offering teachers who participated in the global mini forum the opportunity to visit Google Korea headquarters, along with additional benefits such as access to Google classroom tool programs.
Kim Jicheol, Superintendent of Chungnam Office of Education, stated, "With more than 500 teachers applying for only 180 spots, this forum demonstrated the high level of interest in digital education among educators. We will continue to realize the future of Chungnam education based on teachers' expertise and autonomy by collaborating with Google and other educational IT companies."
