The Next-Generation Convergence Technology Research Institute, a joint venture between Gyeonggi Province and Seoul National University, donated funds voluntarily collected by its employees on the 17th to help residents of Gyeongsangbuk-do who were affected by the recent wildfire.
This donation was made through the voluntary participation of the institute’s employees and labor union, and the funds will be used to support residents in the Gyeongbuk area through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.
The institute contributes to solving social issues through proactive research and development and dissemination projects in areas such as environment, climate, public safety, and disaster response using scientific and technological approaches. In particular, it has continuously participated in practical community support activities through various means such as environmental cleanup, rural volunteer work, welfare facility support, and youth career mentoring.
A representative of the institute stated, "We extend our deepest condolences to the affected residents and sincerely hope that daily life will be restored as soon as possible. We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities as a public institution and carry on various activities in cooperation with the local community."
