Jung-gu, Daejeon announced that it has been selected for the 'Local Branding Support Project' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing a total project budget of 600 million KRW, including 300 million KRW in national funding.


This project aims to enhance the uniqueness and competitiveness of Jung-gu by utilizing local resources (culture, people, environment, etc.) to strengthen the distinct characteristics and self-sufficiency of the Daesa-dong area.


Since March, Jung-gu has been preparing for the project by developing a region-specific strategy based on local assets such as the Bomunsan Wood Experience Center and young carpenters.


Jung-gu plans to implement various detailed projects, including the creation of a making space, the construction of a village symbolic gate, and the hosting of a repair fair.


Kim Jesun, head of Jung-gu District Office, said, "With this selection, we will further enhance the city's appeal through local branding that utilizes the unique resources of Jung-gu."
