Seeking Effective Measures Led by Chairperson Shin Sujeong
Proposals Include Low-Interest Loans and Improvements to Guarantee Systems

Shin Sujeong, Chairperson of the Gwangju City Council, announced on the 17th that a 'win-win roundtable' was held on the 16th in the chairperson's office with the Buk-gu and Gwangsan-gu Alley-type Shopping District Association and the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation to support small business owners.
This roundtable was organized as a follow-up to the meetings with the Buk-gu and Gwangsan-gu Alley-type Shopping District Association held on the 2nd and 9th. It aimed to specifically discuss the financial support issues raised on-site and to derive effective cooperation measures.
The roundtable was attended by key stakeholders, including Chairperson Shin Sujeong, the presidents of the Buk-gu and Gwangsan-gu Alley-type Shopping District Association, and the chairman of the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation. They listened to voices from the field and held in-depth discussions on realistic support measures.
The Alley-type Shopping District Association conveyed on-site difficulties and requested: ▲active promotion of loan products operated by the Credit Guarantee Foundation ▲strengthening support for low-interest loan connections ▲expansion of Credit Guarantee Foundation branches and staff ▲guidance on non-face-to-face loans, among others.
In response, Yeom Gyusong, Chairman of the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation, presented practical measures such as ▲forming an internal improvement team to reduce guarantee rejection rates ▲improving guarantee limits ▲reinforcing staff for non-face-to-face loan guidance ▲strengthening promotion of loan products ▲efforts to reduce financial costs, and more.
Chairperson Shin stated, "I hope that the Alley-type Shopping District Association and Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation will communicate closely so that small business owners in urgent need of financial support can receive real help," adding, "The council will also spare no effort in providing support, including institutional improvements."
