Meeting Held with Five Webtoon Agencies

Daejeon Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency held a meeting on the 16th to promote the '2025 Regional-Based Webtoon Artist Training Project.' / Promotion Agency

Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency announced on the 16th that it held a webtoon agency business meeting at the Daejeon Webtoon Campus to promote the '2025 Regional-Based Webtoon Artist Training Program'.

The meeting was organized to strengthen the cooperation system with five webtoon agencies, which are key partners for the 2025 project, following the agency's selection for the program for two consecutive years by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency.

This year, the agency plans to discover 10 prospective and rookie artists from Daejeon through the program and support them with expert mentoring, capacity-building education, production costs, and networking opportunities.

The five webtoon companies?The Grim Entertainment, YLAB Academy, To You Dream, Jaedam Media, and Team Maetgamari?will provide mentoring and opportunities for serialization contracts to the selected prospective and rookie artists from Daejeon.

Additionally, professional webtoon artists who are currently serving as adjunct professors at five webtoon departments in Daejeon and serialize their works on Naver and Kakao platforms will participate as experts, offering various programs such as monthly special lectures, talk shows, and workshops.

The selected participants are local prospective and rookie artists who wish to continue creative activities after graduation. They will participate in events such as pop-up stores in the second half of the year, based on manuscripts created with support for webtoon IP production costs.

In particular, the agency plans to maximize the possibility of market entry by holding exhibitions and pitching sessions for works to webtoon platforms, agencies, and studio companies, aiming for serialization contracts and other opportunities.
