Awarded in the Vehicle Battery Category for Five Consecutive Years
Hankook & Company announced on the 17th that its Korean (Hankook) battery brand has won the '2025 Korea Master Brand Awards' in the vehicle battery category. With this, Hankook Battery has been honored as the best brand in the vehicle battery sector for 5 consecutive years, totaling 6 times.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Korea Master Brand Awards is an award where consumers directly select outstanding brands. The evaluation is based on an online consumer survey. In this survey, Hankook & Company achieved the highest score in the vehicle battery category, surpassing both domestic and global brands.
Cho Hyun-beom, Chairman of Hankook & Company Group, is strengthening the battery (lead-acid battery) business as a core driving force of the group, alongside the group's key businesses of tires and Hanon Systems' automotive thermal management systems.
Hankook & Company's battery business, which focuses on lead-acid batteries, ranks 7th in global market share and accounted for more than 70% of the holding company Hankook & Company's sales last year.

Hankook & Company is confident that it has secured the capability to flexibly respond to global geopolitical changes, as it operates not only domestic plants in Jeonju and Daejeon but also the only U.S. local factory in the domestic lead-acid battery industry. Based on this production capacity, the company plans to expand the production capacity of its premium line, the 'AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat)' battery, to 5 million units by 2030, doubling the current level.
A representative of Hankook & Company Group said, "Hankook (Hankook) Battery, along with tires and automotive thermal management systems, has industry-leading quality competitiveness as a future growth engine of the group. We will increase the proportion of AGM batteries and further expand the battery business to the industrial market encompassing ESS, robotics, and overall mobility."
