This Year's Yeouido Spring Flower Festival Attracted 3.03 Million Visitors... A Safe and Moving Festival

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that the 'Yeouido Spring Flower Festival,' held for five days from the 8th to the 12th, concluded successfully with 3.03 million visitors.

This festival coincided with the spring flower blooming season, and from the very first day, visitors from all over the country and abroad flocked to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the fully blossomed spring flowers.

Held under the theme of 'Everyone's Garden,' the festival featured four themed gardens: Spring Flower Garden, Rest Garden, Art Garden, and Gourmet Garden, allowing anyone to freely walk, rest, and enjoy. Various contents such as cultural performances, photo zones, exhibitions, and food were added, making it an event for all generations to enjoy together.

Notably, Seoul's first barrier-free guided tour for the visually impaired, 'Spring Flower Companion,' enabled visually impaired visitors to enjoy the festival through all five senses: hearing (festival enjoyed through performances), touch (festival felt by hand), taste (festival savored through flavors), and smell (festival filled with floral scents), making it a festival for everyone.

Food trucks operated by seniors from the Yeongdeungpo-gu Senior Club, a self-photo corner, pop-up gardens created by citizen gardeners, an urban camping zone, and bean bag sofa zones received great responses, enriching the festival atmosphere.

Additionally, the festival shone due to the district’s thorough preparation and meticulous management prioritizing visitor safety and convenience. Order maintenance personnel were concentrated at expected congested areas such as Yeouinaru Station. Advanced technologies including Seoul City disaster safety buses, intelligent closed-circuit (CCTV) cameras, and real-time crowd analysis systems were introduced to enhance safety management beyond previous years. Illegal street vendor crackdowns and cleaning patrols helped create a pleasant festival environment. The use of eco-friendly reusable containers instead of disposable products also stood out for environmental protection and sustainable festival efforts.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, "This year’s Yeouido Spring Flower Festival coincided well with the blooming season, allowing many visitors including families and couples to fully enjoy the spring flowers of Yeouido, leading to a successful conclusion. We will continue to offer rich programs every year so that all visitors can safely enjoy the festival."
