Achieved First Place in Qualitative Evaluation for Three Consecutive Years
Secured 85 Million KRW in Financial Incentives
Geochang County, Gyeongsangnam-do, announced on the 17th that it achieved first place in the qualitative evaluation among counties in the '2025 City and County Major Affairs Joint Assessment (based on 2024 performance)', receiving an award for excellence and a special adjustment grant of 85 million KRW as a financial incentive from Gyeongsangnam-do.
The City and County Major Affairs Joint Assessment is a comprehensive and objective evaluation conducted annually since 2011 by Gyeongsangnam-do, targeting 18 cities and counties. It is divided into quantitative and qualitative assessment categories to evaluate administrative capabilities and achievements in connection with national and provincial policies.
As a result of the qualitative evaluation, Geochang County was selected as the top county with 9 out of 22 indicators recognized as outstanding cases, including: implementing customized administrative services through the normalization of digital technology; establishing a responsible care environment in cooperation with the local community; building Geochang as a youth-friendly city led by dynamic young people; promoting cultural projects throughout Geochang; and completing the east-west-north-south forest recreation belt.
Over the past year, the county has made efforts to improve its assessment performance through in-depth analysis of evaluation indicators, expert consulting, and holding performance improvement strategy meetings.
County Governor Koo Inmo stated, "Achieving excellent results for seven consecutive years is the outcome of all employees actively working for the residents, and in particular, the qualitative evaluation results are meaningful as they recognize the achievements of policies that residents can truly feel." He added, "We will continue to deliver the best administration with the sole intention of serving our residents."
