Samsung SDS Presents 'Manufacturing AI Strategy' at 'Industry Day'

Samsung SDS held the 'Samsung SDS Industry Day Preparing for the Future of Manufacturing' seminar on the 16th at the Jamsil Sky31 Convention Center, targeting manufacturing companies. This seminar was organized to introduce actual implementation cases of Samsung SDS's differentiated generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology and manufacturing-specialized solutions such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing execution system (MES), product lifecycle management (PLM), and operational technology (OT) security, and to share related know-how.

About 300 IT managers from manufacturing companies attended the event, showing great interest in digital innovation cases in the manufacturing industry. Samsung SDS presented digital manufacturing innovation strategies by covering various topics including AI agent use cases in manufacturing, manufacturing ERP innovation plans, security strategies for ransomware response, manufacturing site innovation based on 5G private networks, and AI-based digital procurement innovation cases.

Kim Jung-wook, Head of Consulting Team (Executive Director) at Samsung SDS, who delivered the keynote speech, presented customized digital innovation strategies for each company based on Samsung SDS's core system experience in the manufacturing industry and global cases, suggesting the future direction of manufacturing.

In the following session titled 'AI Agent: Core Notes on Hyperautomation,' key elements of hyperautomation in manufacturing and actual application cases were introduced, attracting high interest from attendees.

Samsung SDS emphasized that security threats at manufacturing sites are increasing due to the spread of smart factories and the expansion of Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G networks. They explained the necessity of security solutions that protect production facilities and manufacturing processes such as IoT sensors and robots operating 24/7 in real time, and presented specific response strategies for detecting and blocking cyberattacks.

Samsung SDS operates global development centers in China, Vietnam, and India, applying the same level of security and quality systems domestically to IT development, operation, and consulting services for client systems across various industries.

Following the defense industry seminar held in February, Samsung SDS plans to continuously hold seminars targeting customers from various industries such as manufacturing, distribution services, finance, and public sectors, supporting work productivity innovation using cloud, generative AI, and industry-specialized solutions.

Lee Jung-heon, Vice President and Head of Strategic Marketing at Samsung SDS, stated, "Samsung SDS Industry Day is an event prepared to share customers' concerns and present solutions such as the use of generative AI and hyperautomation strategies," adding, "We will continue to do our best to help customers achieve practical innovation based on Samsung SDS's experience and know-how."
