The third-generation heir of Byucksan Group has been brought to trial on charges of driving under the influence of psychotropic drugs.

According to the legal community on the 16th, the Criminal Division 9 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Seong-min) indicted Mr. Kim without detention on the 10th for violating the Road Traffic Act. Mr. Kim is the grandson of the late Kim In-deuk, the honorary chairman and founder of Byucksan Group.


Mr. Kim is accused of causing two traffic accidents in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on July 27 last year while driving under the influence of psychotropic drugs prescribed at a hospital.


It was investigated that Mr. Kim was involved in a minor collision and underwent police investigation, and then drove again a few hours later, causing a second accident. A simple drug test conducted after the second accident reportedly showed a positive result.


Previously, Mr. Kim was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year probation in the second trial in October 2023 for using drugs mixed with methamphetamine and ecstasy, as well as liquid marijuana, while staying abroad, and the sentence was finalized as is.
