On the 16th, Gijang County in Busan announced that County Mayor Jeong Jongbok visited the Ministry of Economy and Finance to actively appeal for the approval of the preliminary feasibility study for the Urban Railway Jeonggwan Line, a long-awaited project of the county.
On this day, Mayor Jeong met with officials from the Feasibility Review Division of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, explaining the necessity of promoting the Jeonggwan Line and conveying Gijang County's strong commitment to the project.

In addition, he held a one-person protest in front of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Korea Development Institute (KDI) buildings, urging the approval of the preliminary feasibility study for the Urban Railway Jeonggwan Line in June this year.
Jeong Jongbok, Mayor of Gijang County, emphasized, "The Urban Railway Jeonggwan Line must be established to respond to the rapidly increasing transportation demand driven by large-scale industrial complexes, the nation's largest baseball theme park, and the construction of K-Culture Town in the region."
The Urban Railway Jeonggwan Line is a section connecting Jwacheon Station on the Donghae Line and Wolpyeong in Jeonggwan-eup, serving as a branch line linking the Donghae Line with the Busan-Yangsan-Ulsan metropolitan railway. Once established, the Jeonggwan Line is expected to become a driving force for the region's economic vitality, greatly contributing to the improvement of the residential environment and balanced regional development.
Since March, the county has been conducting a 'countywide petition campaign' to pass the preliminary feasibility study for the Urban Railway Jeonggwan Line, and is focusing all administrative efforts, including planning a 'countywide mass rally' in May with large-scale participation from local organization leaders and residents.
