Singer Park Hyeshin and Marcus Kang Appointed as Gwangju City Public Relations Ambassadors

Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) officially appointed singer Park Hye-shin and Marcus Kang as 'Gwangju City Ambassadors' on the 16th.

Park Hye-shin, a native of Gwangju City, began her singing career by winning the grand prize in the Gwangju City episode of KBS's 'National Singing Contest' in 2006, and has released numerous hit songs such as "Hot and Exciting," "Touching," and "Just Once." In particular, she was recognized for her outstanding vocal skills by reaching the TOP 5 in MBN's 'Active King of Singers' in 2024.

Additionally, rookie singer Marcus Kang is the son of singer Woo-yeon, who served as a long-time ambassador for Gwangju City, and gained recognition by appearing on TV Chosun's 'Mr. Trot 2' in 2022.

Since then, he has been active on various stages such as KBS's 'Immortal Songs' and 'Music Stage,' drawing attention with songs like "National Son-in-law" and "Play for Me."

Park Hye-shin expressed, "I am honored to stand in the prestigious position of Gwangju City Ambassador and will work actively to elevate Gwangju's status through my activities."

Marcus Kang also said, "Following my mother, it is deeply meaningful for me to serve as a Gwangju City Ambassador, and I will do my best to promote Gwangju City."

Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, "I ask for your active efforts to widely promote Gwangju, a beautiful city of culture and arts," and added, "I look forward to your significant role in promoting various festivals, including the '2026-2027 Gyeonggi Province Sports Festival' to be held in Gwangju City."

Meanwhile, Park Hye-shin and Marcus Kang will actively engage in promoting Gwangju City over the next two years by producing various promotional content and participating in events as Gwangju City Ambassadors.
