This special lecture was organized to help college students recover psychologically in response to the recent increase in social disasters and personal trauma experiences.
The lecture, hosted by the Jung-gu Mental Health Welfare Center operated by the department, covered topics including understanding post-traumatic stress, understanding trauma responses, and strategies for self-care and recovery.
Lecturer Ma Jiye emphasized, "Traumatic experiences can happen to anyone, and it is very important to receive appropriate support and intervention," adding, "Recognizing your own emotions and building resilience are key to prevention."
One student who participated in the lecture shared, "Through the lecture, I was able to understand why I feel so anxious, and I think it will also help my friends around me."
Department Chair Kim Minjeong stated, "We plan to continue holding regular mental health lectures to provide practical support for students' psychological recovery and growth."
The Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Tongmyong University produces professionals in the fields of counseling and clinical psychology based on psychology, and operates a curriculum that covers counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly from a lifespan perspective. The department also runs an integrated bachelor's and master's program and is entrusted with the operation of the Jung-gu Mental Health Welfare Center.
