The Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director: Lee Namil) announced that it will hold a memorial service to honor the noble spirit of sacrifice of the victims of the April 19 Revolution on the occasion of the 65th anniversary. The event will take place at 2 p.m. on the 18th at the April 19 Revolution Victims’ Memorial Enshrinement Hall in Democracy Park.
The memorial service will be attended by the Director of the Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, the head of the Busan branch of the April 19 Revolution Victims’ Bereaved Families Association, the head of the Busan branch of the April 19 Democratic Revolution Association, the head of the General Affairs Division of Busan City, bereaved families, and about 40 others. The program will include the reading of a memorial address, offering of drinks and bows, memorial speeches, a soul-soothing dance performance, and the laying of flowers by attendees.
The Enshrinement Hall houses portrait photographs of 19 people who were killed during the April 19 Revolution and 24 injured individuals who later passed away.
The Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will also attend the April 19 Revolution Commemoration Ceremony, hosted by Busan City, at the April 19 Democratic Revolution Victims’ Memorial Tower in Central Park on the 19th to honor the noble sacrifices made in defense of democracy.
