Daiso, a specialty store for uniform-priced daily necessities, has expanded its sales to include sports apparel and accessories, following cosmetics and health functional foods.
According to industry sources on the 16th, Daiso has been selling sports brand products from Le Coq and Skechers at its offline stores since this month. The items include T-shirts, socks, hats, and gloves. The representative product, Le Coq mesh short-sleeve T-shirt, is priced at 3,000 won, and the polo short-sleeve T-shirt is 5,000 won. Additionally, socks from Le Coq and Skechers are priced between 1,000 and 2,000 won. This is the first time these brands have been introduced at Daiso.
Daiso continues to expand its product categories. Previously, major brands such as Amorepacific, LG Household & Health Care, and Nature Republic entered the beauty category at uniform prices. Recently, pharmaceutical companies like Daewoong Pharmaceutical and Chong Kun Dang Health have supplied vitamins and omega-3 supplements priced under 5,000 won to 200 Daiso stores, attracting attention.
Daiso, which sells about 30,000 products at uniform prices, has seen a sharp increase in performance as it expands its product range. According to the audit report recently released by Asung Daiso, last year Daiso's sales reached 3.9689 trillion won, up 14.7% from the previous year, and operating profit rose 41.8% to 371.1 billion won.
A Daiso representative stated, "We maintain the uniform price policy through a low-margin, high-volume strategy by simplifying the distribution structure and excluding marketing costs."
