Regular Meeting Held... "Appropriate Compensation Must Be Provided to Affected Residents"
Mayor Kim Bora: "Attracting Semiconductor Partner Companies to the SoBuJang Specialized Complex"
Gyeonggi-do Anseong City and the Anseong City Council have decided to take proactive measures regarding the construction of high-voltage power transmission lines for the Yongin semiconductor industrial complex.
On the 15th, Anseong City held a regular meeting with the City Council to discuss countermeasures for the high-voltage power transmission line construction project promoted by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), the city announced on the 16th.

This project aims to supply electricity to the 'Advanced System Semiconductor National Industrial Complex' in the Cheoin-gu Ildong and Namsa-eup areas of Yongin and the 'Yongin Semiconductor Cluster General Industrial Complex' in Wonsam-myeon, with three routes passing through the Anseong area. Samsung Electronics will establish semiconductor production lines in the system semiconductor complex, while SK Hynix will do so in the semiconductor cluster complex.
Choi Hoseop, Chairperson of the City Council's Steering Committee, demanded renegotiation of the project to ensure appropriate compensation for residents affected by the construction of the high-voltage power transmission lines during the meeting.
Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong, also stated, "Compensation should be made in a way that benefits not only the residents affected by the project but also the overall interests of the city."
Mayor Kim expressed her intention to attract related companies to the Dongsin General Industrial Complex, designated as a semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) specialized complex. She said, "We need to devise ways for the region to grow, such as attracting research facilities or partner companies of SK Hynix or Samsung Electronics to the SoBuJang specialized complex."
The meeting also discussed attracting leading companies to the region and issues related to the Yucheon water intake facility. The city and the city council have been discussing major local issues through regular meetings since last year.
