Daegu Dalseo-gu (District Mayor Lee Taehun) announced that on the 15th, it held the '2025 Dalseo-gu Social Economy Committee' and exchanged various opinions to promote the activation of the social economy and ensure the successful operation of the Social Economy Support Center.
This committee was organized to strengthen the self-sustainability of enterprises amid the challenging environment of reduced government support for social economy enterprises, to discuss policies for establishing a sustainable growth foundation, and to collect field-centered opinions in order to discover unique strategies for revitalizing the social economy in Dalseo-gu.
In particular, there was active discussion about building a virtuous cycle structure for the discovery, growth, independence, and expansion of social economy enterprises, centering on the 'Dalseo-gu Social Economy Support Center,' which is scheduled to open for the first time among basic local governments in Daegu.
Daegu Dalseo-gu plans to open the 'Dalseo-gu Social Economy Support Center' in September 2025 on the second floor of the Jukjeon-dong Youth Happy Housing (total floor area of 693.02㎡), which will be equipped with offices for resident companies, a promotional hall, meeting rooms, an education center, and a digital studio.
During the meeting, various policy proposals were made, including directions for establishing a promotional hall to introduce the social activities of enterprises and measures to build networks for mentoring and encouraging (prospective) entrepreneurs to enter the field.
Lee Taehun, Mayor of Daegu Dalseo-gu, stated, "As we have widely gathered opinions from experts and company representatives through this committee, we will actively reflect them in policies to promote the social economy," and added, "Through the Social Economy Support Center, we will do our best not only to discover new enterprises but also to support the sustainable growth of existing companies."
