Comfort Through Music:
"If You Go to Busan," "Yeongilman Friend,"
and "About Romance"
Singer Choi Baekho, known for expressing the weight of life with his deep resonance and lyrical melodies, will return to Dongnam Regional Radiation Medical Center at 3 p.m. on April 18.
Choi Baekho, who was born in Jwacheon-ri, Gijang-gun, maintains a special emotional bond with Dongnam Regional Radiation Medical Center, as he graduated from Ilgwang Elementary School, where his mother once taught.
With this heartfelt connection, he is currently serving as the promotional ambassador for Dongnam Regional Radiation Medical Center.
This is the second Consolation Concert for Patients, following the one in 2023. More than just a performance, this event aims to deliver heartfelt comfort and hope, leaving a deep impression on patients, their families, and hospital staff alike.
Choi Baekho, who has sung about life and romance through signature songs such as "About Romance," "If You Go to Busan," and "End of the Sea," will take the stage embodying his philosophy that "music must ultimately be for people."

The simple stage set up in the hospital’s first-floor lobby may be modest, but it will be filled with sincerity. Choi Baekho plans to perform more than ten songs, delivering encouragement and empathy to cancer patients with genuine emotion in each piece. In particular, when songs like "If You Go to Busan," "Yeongilman Friend," and "About Romance" are performed, it is expected that the audience will join together and sing along as one.
This concert is especially anticipated to provide great comfort to patients undergoing difficult chemotherapy and those recovering from cancer surgery who are currently hospitalized. The entire performance will be offered as a talent donation, without any appearance fee, and with the support of local companies Hyundai RB Co., Ltd. and Sungwoo Hitech Co., Ltd., baked goods and beverages will also be provided to patients.
Notably, the event is being held as part of the "Wings of Hope" initiative, a social contribution program by the Nuclear Energy Cooperation Foundation, highlighting the warmth of solidarity within the community and society.
Lee Changhun, Director of the Medical Center, expressed his anticipation, saying, "The music of Choi Baekho, who has sung about romance and life for so long, will be a gift-like experience for hospitalized patients, staff, and all visitors to the hospital. Above all, it will be a time for everyone to share in the healing power of music."
