The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) said in a statement that "Because the power of memory lasts, our struggle to create safe workplaces and a safe society is bound to succeed," and added, "Let us remember and unite until the day we eradicate internal enemies and achieve a great social reform."
The Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) said, "Although 11 years have passed, the reality where safety is deprioritized under the pretext of efficiency and cost reduction continues even at this very moment," and stated, "We must inspect the entire disaster safety system of our society and take practical measures to improve it so that such a tragedy never happens again. We will not forget and will remember."
