Dong-A University and Dongseo University Hold First Meeting of Glocal University Consortium Self-Evaluation Committee

Dong-A University and Dongseo University, which will launch as a glocal consortium university, held their first evaluation committee meeting.

Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on the 16th that, together with Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk), it held the appointment ceremony and the first meeting of the 'Glocal Consortium University Internal Evaluation Committee'.

The event, held on the 3rd floor conference hall of the Busan City Hotel on the 10th, was attended by representatives from the two universities, Busan Metropolitan City, Korea Power Semiconductor Industry Association, Busan Information Technology Association, Busan Design Promotion Agency, and Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency.

Previously, Dong-A University and Dongseo University presented the vision of a 'Busan open consortium university realizing mutual benefits for Busan City and universities based on an integrated industrial complex', and were selected for the Ministry of Education's 'Glocal University 30' project last year.

Based on the implementation plan for this project, the two universities formed an 'Internal Evaluation Committee' composed in a 1:1:1 ratio of university, local government, and industry representatives. This committee will conduct comprehensive operational evaluations of governance and project implementation, establishing a system for performance analysis and feedback.

On this day, Hwang Kisik, Director of Strategic Planning for the Consortium University (Director of Planning at Dong-A University), was appointed as chairperson. Other appointed committee members included heads of departments related to consortium university initiatives, Song Jeongsuk (Head of Industry-Academia Cooperation, Busan City), Kim Youngsuk (Head of Visual Content Industry, Busan City), Kang Sungkyu (Chairman of Busan Film Commission), Choi Yunhwa (President of Korea Power Semiconductor Industry Association), Park Chungsik (President of Busan Information Technology Association), Kang Pilhyun (President of Busan Design Promotion Agency), and Kim Taeyeol (President of Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency).

During the first meeting that followed, committee members discussed the evaluation of the first-year project outcomes and shared opinions on the direction for development in the coming year.

Chairperson Hwang Kisik emphasized, "We will gather the valuable opinions of committee members from various local sectors to ensure that the Dong-A?Dongseo Glocal Consortium University can grow together with the local government and regional industries."
