Hyundai Engineering & Construction's 11-Year-Long Talent Donation Social Contribution

Hyundai Construction announced on the 15th that it held the launch ceremony for the 11th class of the 'Hillstate Dream-Kium Mentoring Volunteer Group' at its headquarters. This is a talent-donation type social contribution activity where company employees and university students act as mentors, and youths as mentees, forming a team to engage in activities for about a year.

Started in 2014, the Dream-Kium Mentoring Volunteer Group is now in its 11th year and is a flagship social contribution program of the company. During the activity period, it helps youths with career planning and academic guidance, as well as providing emotional support. Employee mentors participate voluntarily. The launch ceremony was attended by Lee Han-woo, CEO of Hyundai Construction, Hwang Young-gi, Chairman of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, company employees, publicity supporters, university students, and youths.

Over the past 10 years, a total of 534 people have participated as mentors and mentees in the volunteer group. The total hours amount to 19,000. The company explained that a virtuous cycle has been created, with former mentees participating again as university student and employee mentors. CEO Lee Han-woo said, "This program helps youths discover their potential and plan their future, and I hope the journey created together by employee and university student mentors becomes an opportunity for growth for everyone."
