SAMG Entertainment Welcomes Bae Jeonghyun, Former TikTok Global Music Partnership Expert, as Head of Global Business Bae Jeong-hyun, Head of Global Business at SAMG Entertainment.

SAMG Entertainment (CEO Kim Suhoon, hereinafter SAMG Entertainment) announced on the 16th that it has officially begun expanding into new markets by recruiting Bae Jeonghyun, a global business executive from TikTok and an expert in global content and platform businesses.


General Manager Bae Jeonghyun is a figure who oversaw Asia music business development and global music partnerships at TikTok headquarters. He was a founding member of TikTok Korea and a key player in leading the global expansion of K-content. He played a crucial role in establishing TikTok's music ecosystem in the global media platform market by leading music licensing and collaborations with K-pop artists.


Bae Jeonghyun, who graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in German Language and Literature, developed his expertise as a global business professional through experiences at CJ Entertainment and LG Electronics' Smart TV business division, executing various content and platform strategies in the North American, European, Japanese, and Chinese markets.


With the addition of General Manager Bae Jeonghyun, SAMG Entertainment plans to focus even more on growing its overseas business division. Recently, SAMG Entertainment has steadily expanded the global reach of Korean animation character IPs by increasing overseas sales by more than 67% compared to the previous year. The company is currently preparing to enter the Southeast Asian market in addition to China and Japan.


Furthermore, SAMG Entertainment aims to strengthen the global market expertise of its core IPs such as "Catch! Teenieping," "Mini Force," "Metal Card Bot," and "Wish Cat," while accelerating its entry into Europe and the United States. In particular, with General Manager Bae Jeonghyun's arrival, the company plans to secure a solid global revenue base by utilizing a strategic business model centered on IP licensing and global partnerships.


Bae Jeonghyun, Global Business General Manager of SAMG Entertainment, stated, "So far, SAMG Entertainment's representative IPs like 'Catch! Teenieping' have shown good results in the Chinese and Japanese markets. Now, based on business know-how spanning content production to product planning, manufacturing, and distribution, we will write a new success story for Korean character IPs as the new leading representatives of K-content globally."
