Practical Policy Expert in Small Businesses and Traditional Markets

The Small Enterprise and Market Service announced on the 16th that Ahn Tae-yong, former head of the Jeonbuk Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, has been appointed as the new Vice President. Vice President Ahn officially received his appointment at the Service on the same day and began his duties.

Vice President Ahn is regarded as a practical policy expert with over 30 years of experience in supporting small and medium enterprises and small business owners. He began his public service career in 1994 through the Grade 7 public recruitment exam and has held key roles in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, including the Public Procurement and Market Access Division, Overseas Market Division, and International Trade Cooperation Division. From January 2023 to March of this year, he served as the head of the Jeonbuk Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration.

The Service commented on the executive appointment, stating, "As he is well known as a leading domestic and international market access policy expert within the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, his policy expertise will enable smooth cooperation with the Ministry."

Vice President Ahn said, "Since there are numerous challenges related to small business owners and traditional markets, I intend to focus on implementing field-tailored policies based on my practical experience. I will do my best to cooperate with government ministries to support the role of institutions that assist small business owners and traditional markets."
