Full-Fledged Cooperation Between Regional National University and Policy Research Institute
National Pukyong University (President Bae Sanghoon) and the Busan Institute (President Shin Hyunseok) have joined forces for the success of the 'Glocal University' initiative.
The two institutions announced on the 16th that they had signed an academic-research cooperation agreement on the 15th to successfully promote the 'Glocal University 30 Project' and to help Busan advance as a global hub city.
President Bae Sanghoon and President Shin Hyunseok signed the agreement at the reception room of the National Pukyong University main building in the afternoon, pledging to strengthen research and educational cooperation as the region's representative national university and policy research institute, and to establish a cooperative system for regional development and nurturing innovative talent.
National Pukyong University is participating in this year's Glocal University 30 Project contest with a strategy to foster high-level talent for the activation of Busan's strategic industries and to help Busan leap forward as a global advanced city. The university expects this agreement to add momentum to its strategic efforts.
Through this agreement, the two institutions plan to jointly plan and operate customized research and education programs based on local community and industry needs for the Glocal University 30 Project, working together to strengthen regional innovation and global competitiveness.
To this end, they will cooperate in: △ promoting research, policy development, and collaborative projects linked to the Glocal University 30 Project; △ establishing comprehensive development strategies and policy research cooperation for the entire Busan area; and △ activating the operation of JA faculty and the exchange and dispatch of research personnel to strengthen joint research and education.
In addition, they plan to: △ support the joint development and operation of curricula for nurturing local talent; △ develop research projects and cooperation models to solve local community issues; △ promote data sharing and joint research for academic and policy studies; and △ expand cooperation through joint academic conferences, forums, and workshops.
