Chosun University (President Kim Chunseong) announced on the 16th that it has signed a business agreement with Wonkwang University Gwangju Korean Medicine Hospital (Director Lee Sangkwan) to develop early diagnosis and dementia-overcoming technologies, which are crucial tasks in the era of super-aging.


The signing ceremony, held on the morning of the 15th in the Cheongchuleo Room at the main building of Chosun University, was attended by Chosun University Vice President Jeon Jeyeol, Lee Geonho, Head of the Gwangju Dementia Cohort Research Group, and Lee Sangkwan, Director of Wonkwang University Gwangju Korean Medicine Hospital, among other officials.


The main contents of the agreement include: ▲ screening tests to identify high-risk groups for dementia in cooperation with the Dementia Safety Center and linkage to detailed examinations for these groups ▲ cooperation in operating a region-based medical pilot service project for early prediction and preventive management of dementia ▲ implementation of public interest projects and pilot services for early diagnosis and prevention of dementia.


Vice President Jeon Jeyeol stated, "The Gwangju Dementia Cohort Research Group at Chosun University possesses the nation's top data and research achievements in the field of dementia," adding, "The collaboration with the Department of Korean Medicine at Wonkwang University Gwangju Korean Medicine Hospital will be an opportunity to achieve even more expansive research outcomes."


Director Lee Sangkwan said, "This agreement will be of great mutual benefit to both institutions, especially in their ongoing research on various brain diseases. We will strive to establish a practical cooperative relationship in the future."
