Hyundai Mobis Showcases New Technologies at Shanghai Motor Show... $200 Million China Order Target for This Year

Unveiling AR Head-Up Display, Sound Demo Car, and More

Hyundai Mobis announced on the 16th that it will participate in 'Auto Shanghai 2025' (hereinafter Shanghai Motor Show), opening on the 23rd, to showcase new technologies specialized for China. Following last year's Beijing Motor Show, this year it will also set up a booth at the Shanghai Motor Show to expand contact points with Chinese customers and achieve its annual China market order target of 200 million USD.

To this end, Hyundai Mobis has recently strengthened promotional activities targeting global customers in the Chinese market. Starting with participation in the Shanghai Motor Show, it has more than doubled the number of 'product roadshows' for target customers compared to the previous year and expanded local-centered networking.

At the motor show held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai, China, Hyundai Mobis has prepared a 300㎡ (90-pyeong) booth. It will operate as a private booth targeting local automakers and global customers who have entered China.

Hyundai Mobis will showcase eight advanced products including new technologies independently developed at its China research centers at this motor show. Currently, Hyundai Mobis operates two research centers in Shanghai and Yantai. The Shanghai center is the R&D hub within China for designing ordered parts and advanced technologies. The Yantai center is responsible for developing new models launched locally and mass production tasks.

Hyundai Mobis will unveil two locally specialized new technologies. These are the Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR-HUD) developed by the Shanghai research center and a sound demo car that integrates acoustic technology.

The AR-HUD display projects a high-resolution virtual image of about 70 inches onto the vehicle’s front windshield, displaying various driving information. Its excellent brightness and contrast ratio allow clear visibility even under sunlight, and it maintains high visibility even when the driver is wearing sunglasses.

The sound demo car, based on the EV6, is equipped with Hyundai Mobis’s proprietary sound system technology and demonstrated in an actual vehicle. The demo car is fitted with 47 speakers to reproduce theater-level immersive sound. Additionally, it applies Active Road Noise Control technology to create a quiet vehicle interior environment.

Kim Deok-gwon, Executive Vice President in charge of Hyundai Mobis’s China business, said, "In the Chinese market, where we have R&D, production bases, and logistics networks, we are seeking new business opportunities targeting global customers. We will carefully analyze technologies preferred by local customers and enhance competitiveness with customized advanced new technologies one step ahead."
