Gyeonggi-do Women and Family Foundation Provides 'Gender Sensitivity Training' for Firefighters

The Gyeonggi-do Women and Family Foundation will conduct 'gender awareness education' for firefighters in the province.

This education is a specialized program tailored to the work characteristics of specific public officials such as firefighters and military personnel, designed to enhance the gender sensitivity of firefighters who operate on the front lines of disaster situations.

The Foundation previously signed a business agreement with the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters in 2023 and has conducted a total of 20 training sessions targeting fire stations in the northern and southern regions of Gyeonggi since last year.

This year, the Foundation is expanding the scope of education by establishing new courses for fire lieutenants at the Fire Academy and for newly appointed firefighters.

The training will be held 30 times from April through the end of the year, utilizing customized gender awareness education content developed directly by the Foundation, considering the work environment and public service duties of firefighters.

Kim Hye-sun, CEO of the Gyeonggi-do Women and Family Foundation, stated, "We expect this education to contribute to creating a gender-equal culture within the firefighting organization, which provides essential public services, and to improving public service quality."
