Ansan City-LH Sign Memorandum of Understanding for Successful Promotion of Public Housing District

Gyeonggi-do Ansan City and Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) have agreed to cooperate for the smooth promotion of major public housing district projects.

On the 15th, Ansan City signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Successful Promotion of Public Housing District Projects and Regional Development' with LH at the City Hall's 1st Conference Room. About 20 people, including Lee Min-geun, Mayor of Ansan, and Lee Han-jun, President of LH, attended the signing ceremony.

At this signing ceremony, the two organizations agreed to mutually cooperate to resolve major issues in the development of the Uiwang, Gunpo, Ansan, Jangsang, and Singil2 public housing districts (such as infrastructure consultations and promotion of living SOC), promote the supply of public housing for Ansan City's youth and newlyweds, and carry out complex development projects for the undergrounding of the Ansan Line.

President Lee Han-jun said, "This agreement marks the beginning of a strong partnership for the success of the projects and regional development." Mayor Lee Min-geun also said, "The agreement will be a starting point for the city and LH to move forward together based on mutual trust," adding, "We will continue to enhance the city's future value and realize the citizens' wishes through close cooperation."

The Uiwang, Gunpo, Ansan district is one of the 3rd generation new towns in the metropolitan area designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in August 2021 to expand housing supply. It is being developed across three local governments: Uiwang City's Chopyeong, Wolam, Samdong; Gunpo City's Domagyo, Bugok, Daeyami-dong; and Ansan City's Geongeon, Sasa-dong. The district covers an area of 5,968,000㎡ and is a large-scale new town with 41,000 housing units. Currently, consultations with related agencies for district plan approval are underway.

The Jangsang district is a public housing district being developed on 2,213,319㎡ in the Jangsang, Jangha, Suam, Bugok, and Yangsang-dong areas of Sangnok-gu, Ansan, with about 14,000 housing units. The Singil2 district covers 758,343㎡ in the Singil-dong area of Danwon-gu, with 6,162 housing units. Both districts began construction in December last year.
