Through this initiative, S-OIL plans to support a total of five underwater and coastal cleanup activities annually at five ports in the Ulsan region, including Gangyang Port, Nasari Port, Bangojin Port, Jeongja Port, and the area near Seuldo. Employee volunteers will directly participate in collecting coastal waste, taking the lead in environmental protection together with the local community.

This cleanup activity is being promoted as a joint effort between the public and private sectors, based on S-OIL's funding and in cooperation with the Korea Maritime Rescue and Salvage Association and Ulsan Maritime Police Station.

The Korea Maritime Rescue and Salvage Association will provide civilian divers, support personnel, watercraft, and volunteers, while the Ulsan Maritime Police Station will focus on marine pollution prevention education and safety guidance through its Marine Pollution Response Division and local police substations.

Park Sunghoon, Executive Director of S-OIL, who attended the event, said, "The ocean is our precious asset, and preserving it is one of the important responsibilities of a company," adding, "We will continue to lead ESG management for environmental protection and a sustainable future by carrying out ongoing cleanup activities together with the local community."

An Cheoljun, Chief of Ulsan Maritime Police Station, stated, "We will continue to actively cooperate with relevant organizations to conduct ongoing cleanup activities for the prevention of marine pollution," and added, "We will carry out a variety of marine pollution prevention activities, including publicity and education to raise awareness of the importance of marine environmental conservation."
