DL E&C has finally secured the construction rights for Hannam 5 District redevelopment, the last puzzle piece of Hannam New Town. This area will be reborn under the high-end brand 'ACRO'.

According to the Hannam 5 District Redevelopment Association on the 15th, DL E&C was the sole participant in the 'construction contractor selection bid for private contract' that closed that day. The association selected DL E&C as the preferred negotiation partner and plans to hold a general meeting on the 31st of next month to finalize the contractor selection through a member vote. Previously, the first and second competitive bids were canceled due to DL E&C's sole participation, meeting the conditions for switching to a private contract.


To create a formal competitive bidding atmosphere, the association also offered bidding opportunities to construction companies that attended the site briefing (including Samsung C&T, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Daewoo Engineering & Construction, among 11 companies). However, no other companies ultimately participated in the private contract bid. This avoided a cutthroat competition with DL E&C, which had built trust through years of communication with the association members.


DL E&C has consistently conducted marketing targeting association members. In particular, it emphasized the premium image and construction expertise of the high-end brand 'ACRO', pledging to make Hannam 5 District a landmark. DL E&C stated, "We have been deeply interested and prepared for this," adding, "We will do our best to make Hannam 5 District a luxury landmark complex in Hannam-dong."


Hannam 5 District is a large-scale project to develop a complex of 2,592 households across 51 buildings, ranging from 6 basement floors to 23 above-ground floors, on an 183,707㎡ site in Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The association proposed a construction cost of 9.16 million KRW per 3.3㎡, with a total construction cost reaching approximately 1.7584 trillion KRW. It is the largest in Hannam New Town in terms of both the number of households and project cost. Especially, Hannam 5 District is evaluated to have excellent location competitiveness due to its high proportion of flat land within the New Town, as well as outstanding views of the Han River and accessibility.


With DL E&C securing the construction rights, the contractor landscape of Hannam New Town is virtually complete. Daewoo E&C was selected for Hannam 2 District, Hyundai E&C for Hannam 3 District, and Samsung C&T for Hannam 4 District. Hannam 3 District is scheduled to begin construction next year and aims for occupancy in 2029. Meanwhile, by securing the construction rights for Hannam 5 District, DL E&C is expected to surpass 2 trillion KRW in cumulative orders for redevelopment projects, following this year's Yeonhui 2 District public redevelopment project (approximately 399.9 billion KRW).
