Gwangju Buk-gu Council Marks 34th Anniversary... "Integrity and Communication, A New Beginning"

Gwangju Buk-gu Council held a commemorative event on the 3rd floor of Buk-gu Office on the 15th to mark its 34th anniversary.


The event was attended by Buk-gu council members, Moonin, Mayor of Buk-gu, Kang Gijung, Mayor of Gwangju, Jung Junho and Jeon Jinsook, members of the National Assembly, Shin Sujeong, Chairperson of Gwangju City Council, Choi Suyeol, Chairperson of Daegu Buk-gu Council, as well as about 150 local residents and dignitaries.

The ceremony began with a commemorative speech by Choi Musong, Chairperson of Buk-gu Council, followed by congratulatory remarks from the Mayor of Gwangju, the City Council Chairperson, members of the National Assembly, and representatives of sister councils. Chairperson Choi stated, "Thank you for joining us on this meaningful occasion to celebrate 34 years together with our residents," and added, "We will continue to build a resident-centered council based on communication and integrity."


In the subsequent awards ceremony, letters of appreciation were presented to 26 residents and 7 public officials who contributed to the development of Buk-gu and council activities.


The event concluded with a performance reaffirming the commitment to integrity. Twenty members of Buk-gu Council each introduced a Chinese character related to 'integrity' and pledged to uphold clean and ethical council activities.
